Gerson WERLANG is the guitarist of the Brazilian band POCOS E NUVENS,
and "Memorias Do Tempo" (2008) is his first solo album. Brazil has
offered numerous brilliant symphonic Progressive rock bands in the past
decades, from SAGRADO to TEMPUS FUGIT... The artist is also a music
teacher, a poet and writer. His piece of work mixes acoustic ballads,
enhanced by beautiful female vocals, and symphonic or neo-classic
complex pieces, melodious and well structured. Numerous guests play on
this album, female singers, bass player, drummer and violin player from
POCOS E NUVENS, keyboards players. There are some heavy moments, but the
main atmosphere is delicate and nostalgic, including beautiful piano
and acoustic or classical guitars (Gerson WERLANG is a virtuoso !), male
and female singing intertwined. The Portuguese singing adds another
musical dimension to this sensible and intense music, also enhanced by a
beautiful and suggestive artwork in the booklet.
